New Band – What a Crazy Week!

Hey friend, how has your week been? I hope it’s been either as exciting or as peaceful as you’d have liked. I hope you’ll also stick around to read/listen to to my update here.

My week has been wild; I’m in a new band, we’re called Those Without a Name (or TWaN for short), and we played our first show last Monday! It was very good, especially the energy from the crowd and hearing people sing the refrain of our song “Never Again” back to us, but the show was almost ruined before it started when the silicone piece of my in-ear monitor came off the hard-plastic and got completely lodged in my ear-hole! I was panicking, but, thankfully, my brother was around right before the show started and he was able to get a piece of copper wire and fish it out of my ear in time for the show! Crazy, right!? There are other crazy stories, but that’s one that (literally) stuck with me!

Our first single, “Evil Ashley,” premiered worldwide on Communion After Dark! If you already liked music like The Purge and you don’t listen to Communion After Dark, then you really ought to start following them.

And so this is the part where I get kind of shy and have to ask for a favor; I’m hoping you’ll check out and support the new band’s single on Bandcamp. I know we live in a world where people don’t actively pay for the music they listen to much anymore, and that’s totally fine (it’s really complicated actually, and I think streaming services are mostly fair to artists), but I am very proud of that dang song and the brilliant songwriting and programming Troy did, the excellent lyrics Maritza wrote, and the absolutely bad ass performances I recorded of Mike. While this is a different project than The Purge, I really hope you’ll give it a chance and toss some coin our way to help us finish the album 🖤
